An invitation to join us for the Shadows of Collinwood Gala on August 16th-17th, 2002

The purpose of the Gala is two-fold:
1) to provide a fun, relaxed gathering for fans who missed out on the Fest this year because it was on the West Coast.
2) to benefit the Lockwood-Matthews Mansion Restoration Fund.


The plan is to have an informal, relaxed weekend at the mansion for fans and cast members alike, in order to raise money to help with the restoration of the mansion, a project worthwhile to DS Fans and history buffs, as well.

On the agenda is an informal reception at the Mansion Friday evening, with light refreshments and time to meet everyone, while enjoying the atmosphere of Lockwood. This will be a small, private party, no admission at the door, and no overcrowding. We plan to have a fun game of Dark Shadows "The Weakest Link" using our extensive knowledge of DS trivia, for which a prize will be given.

Saturday, there will be a cookout on the grounds for lunch, and an informal buffet supper in the evening. We hope to have small, organized groups touring the mansion by (electric) candlelight, music, games, and general merriment!

We have DS memorabilia items for auction to benefit the Mansion Fund, and perhaps a few surprises, as well!

All staff will be volunteer, and no profit is intended with the exception of that which we plan to donate to the Mansion.

As of now, Denise Nickerson is planning to attend, and we would sincerely extend an invitation to any other Dark Shadows fans and cast members who would like to spend a relaxed weekend in beautiful Connecticut to benefit this worthy cause!

We will be staying at The Sheraton 4 Points Hotel 426 Main Avenue, Route 7 Norwalk, Connecticut 06851. We have a special rate of $79 a night, single or double occupancy. In order to get this rate, tell them you are with SOC. Please call by Aug. 6th to reserve your room. Call 203-849-9828
